NeighborWorks® of Pueblo has partnered with the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo (HAP) to implement a Section 8 Homeownership Program here in Pueblo.  Recent legislative changes now permit public housing authorities that administer the Section 8 Program to provide a "homeownership option", which allows families approved for Section 8 to use their Section 8 subsidy for rental housing or for homeownership.

What does this mean to Section 8 Voucher holders?  If you are a voucher holder and are enrolled in the HAP's Family Self-Sufficiency Program, you may qualify to utilize your voucher to pay toward your home purchase!

This is how NeighborWorks® of Pueblo can help you!  Utilizing funding already received and restricted toward the use of providing second mortgages, we will bridge the gap between the mortgage amount that you qualify for (as determined by the lender you choose) and the appraised value of the home.  NeighborWorks® of Pueblo will recoup these funds by accessing the housing subsidy voucher payments that were formerly used to pay your rent.  The funds that are recouped will then be used to assist additional families through this program.
